Commercial Construction Superintendent
Reports To: Operations Manager
Compensation: Negotiable (mileage included)
Location: Field-Based (Project Sites)
Shift Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm Mon. - Fri.; 8:00am - 4:30pm Sat
Position Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Commercial Superintendent to take ownership of all field operations for large-scale commercial construction multi family and mixed use projects. This role is critical to ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standard of quality.

You’ll be the on-site leader — coordinating subcontractors, driving the schedule, maintaining safety compliance, and serving as the main point of contact for day-to-day project execution. From site prep to final inspection, your leadership and attention to detail will set the pace and tone for the entire job.
Key Responsibilities

Daily Site Management: Direct all on-site construction activities including work sequencing, manpower, material flow, and inspections. Ensure job site cleanliness and professional appearance at all times.Oversees daily operations at a construction site. Conducts weekly meetings with the entire crew and sets expectations for assignments to be executed.

Subcontractor Coordination: Schedule and supervise all trades, ensuring contract scopes are clearly understood and executed. Hold subcontractors accountable for performance, safety, and quality standards.

Logistics Oversight: Plan deliveries, site access, crane paths, laydown areas, and equipment usage. Anticipate logistical challenges and prevent bottlenecks before they arise. Orders necessary rental equipment, tools, and materials.

Safety Leadership: Enforce company and OSHA safety requirements with zero tolerance for violations. Lead daily safety meetings, conduct walk-throughs, and maintain an incident-free environment.

Schedule Execution: Drive short-term and master schedules in collaboration with project managers. Anticipate issues and adjust sequencing proactively to avoid delays.

Quality Assurance: Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure field execution aligns with project documents. Conduct detailed inspections and address deficiencies immediately.

Communication: Serve as the primary site liaison for ownership, architects, engineers, and inspectors. Provide consistent, professional updates to stakeholders on site conditions and progress. Works directly with the project manager, architect, engineer, electrician, and other specialists.

Problem Solving: Resolve field conflicts swiftly and with sound judgment. Identify risks early and implement corrective actions without compromising project timelines or budgets.

Documentation: Maintain accurate daily reports, site photos, RFIs, safety logs, and punch lists. Writes daily logs and other necessary documentation to validate completion of tasks. Ensure full compliance with project tracking and closeout protocols. Uses popular construction management software.

Training: Hires, trains, and manages construction workers. Responsible for evaluations and performance tracking. Ensures skillsets align with the 30-day trial period and approves hiring transition.
Qualifications

8+ years of field leadership experience on commercial construction projects

Proven track record managing complex builds over $10M or multi-phase developments

Deep understanding of construction methods, sequencing, site logistics, and subcontractor coordination

Proficient in reading blueprints, construction documents, and schedules (Microsoft Project or similar platforms)

Exceptional communication, leadership, and time management skills

OSHA 30 certification preferred; strong commitment to safety excellence

A high school diploma or equivalent is required

An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred
